Re: audionote made in Canada. any body heard of ?

Dear Jphii,

Not strange at all, we have a small facility in Canada (which I hope to expand as sales grow), it used to make the DAC Kits, but we converted to make finished products about 2 1/2 years ago.

It is run by ex Sonic Frontiers designer Mike Kerster and produces the DAC2.1x balanced, DAC3.1x Balanced, M2Line Balanced and M2Phono Balanced.

It has always been part of my strategy to spread the production capacity between several sites, we work in a very international market and putting back something to any given market when an opportunity arises, by producing product and employing people there is a positive thing to do in my view.

As another example of this, the OTO and SORO models will shortly be produced in Lithuania together with the new CDT Two, the Baltic states have been a good market for us for many years and my distributor there is highly competent, customs regulations are no longer an issue now that Lithuania is part of the EC, and with a good and in a European context "inexpensive" workforce, it creates a good win-win scenario.

Sincerely,
Peter Qvortrup
