You can, my amp is similar in circuit design to the CJ. What Kt88's you thinking of? I can recommend the EH Kt 88. It will give you more grunt. IMHO changing the signal valves will do more to alter the sound than power valves.
Try & find the most neutral power valve & tweak it with your fav signal tubes.regards
