I just completed the restoration of my third Magnavox console amp, the single ended version with a 12AX7.
I moved the power cord on the back side (where the speakers taps are). On the other side I placed a switch (using the hole where the molex connector was). So three sides have a nice wood frame, of the same wood (cabreuva incenso) that I used for the push-pull version.
Electronically I replaced some out of specs resistors, added a fuse, the switch, and replaced the two .01uf 400V coupling caps with .015uf 1000V russian PIO caps.
I had to remake and move a bad ground soldering that arced and made sparkles when I turned it for the first time.
The sound is really good, with absolutely no detectable hum. It sounds better than its "brother" with the 6EU7, and very close to the wonderful sound of the PP version.
