I am not completely shure but I think I have read...
that the silver marks are made by the explosion of a special
compound and fuse used in the production of the tube to ensure a
better vacuum (and combustion consumes oxigen).Then it actually does not make any electrical difference as to the
shape, size or position of this silver stain.
