Hello-- What is the consensus on the best sounding version of the KT77? (black base, rounded glass top,1979-1984; or the brown base, rounded glass, 1970-1978; or the flat-top brown base 1960s)? I sold my well-used quad a few years back to pay for medical expenses, and want to save up for a quad of used (can't afford anything new or in NIB/NOS-- I could afford maybe one tube!) Is it worth the expense compared to a used/good Mullard EL34? Thanks!
