Here is an unusual question I am asking on behalf of a friend. He has fallen in love with the sound of the original Telefunken AL4 power pentode, used as a driver tube in triode mode. The old AL4 is so far the only indirectly heated pentode I have seen that uses a mesh plate. Are there any other unknown smallish pentodes out there (US or European) that use a mesh anode? He and I are both curious if there are any out there that someone has run across.
