Howdy!
Ran into a Matsushita 5AR4 which is a little different from the 'normal' Mats. 5AR4s.
This one has smooth, vented plates, welded, black base, the envelope is the same dia. as the base, and tops out with a square-shoulder, flat-top look. No seams as in the 'normal' Mats. 5AR4s I've previously had.
Only code on the tube is "1B" printed on the base, next to the name.
From what I can determine, it is a mid-50's to mid-60's tube -- this info was from some Japanese website with no English, only pictures.
What do I have here? It's going in my amp when I get home. I figger it's gotta be better than the drek I've been feeding it lately.. =o)
