That's exactly what I was thinking, Dacman. I've taken off the coolers and things are back to normal.As I mentioned in another follow-up, I was in fact using the carbon jackets that come with the coolers to hold them in place . . . probably I was making things even worse.
If you've ever noticed, though, if you've got a piece of equiment with cooling fins, the cooling fins are actually COOLER than the unit was before hand. They're warm, sure, but not as hot as the unit was. That's logical. If the fins are hotter than the object was without fins, then it's as you say and these tube "coolers" are really tube blankets. Or jackets. Or parkas.
So I'm not using them anymore.
