Also, have you tried adding some bypasses onto the big PS electrolytics? I added a Kimber .22uF, 600 v cap onto both the PS caps, and the improvement, while not huge, is quite noticeable. Cary normally bypasses big electrolytics in their other amps -- I guess they didn't on the 6-Packs due to room, and perhaps the fact that the caps are much lower microfarad values than many of the Cary-branded amps. I used the Kimbers just 'cause I had them laying around. A better film cap might be even, um, better, but I haven't tried. There is room for them, although nowhere to tie them down (I just let them "lay" there).
