Here are my experiences dealing with them over the years:When I checked their website they claimed they have some NOS 6SN7 GT in stock. Went to there one afternoon during lunch and they said that they have to retrieve them from the warehouse and that should take a few days. Fine, when I went back there 4 days later, they showed me some silkscreened Raytheon 6SN7GTA. Ask for the price and then they said "oh, the price on our web site is out of date, the new price should xxxx......".I said fine, gimme those tubes (for I was despirate to have my blown 6SN7 replaced). Took them home and checked on the web and a few other places, only to realized that these are Sovtek equivalents(Russian stuff) and someone intentionally "silkscreened" on that "Raytheon" and "6SN7 GTA" onto the tubes (Yellow color)
Took them back to Main and questioned them. They act in denial claiming that the tubes they sold are "genuine...blah blah blah...I must have swapped in some tubes and try to con them into replacing/for a refund, no refunds on goods sold, etc, etc."
The outcome: they refused to take back those fake Raytheon tubes and I went straight to Better Business Bureau the very next day to file for a formal complaint.
Since then I have heard many other stories about Main electronics regarding counterfeit tubes (mostly relabeled), terrible services, etc. I've heard news from another dealer on Boundary (near Wolfe automotive dealships) that Main apparently deal with a gentleman in Vancouver so as to have Russian tubes relabelled (silkscreening) and resold as something else.
You think I'm going to recommend Main Electronics to folks here? Not a single chance. Unless they find some ways to come clean, otherwise I would not trust them with a 10-foot pole.
