Tubes Asylum Questions about tubes and gear that glows. FAQ |
|
Greetings- I just got this Sylvania 6A5g triode and tested on my Hickock 533A.It tests at an incredible 4300 where as 3000 is NOS. The thing that bugs me is that one of the four filaments that are visable on the top mica is not glowing nearly as bright as the other three. Is this a condition that I should be concerned with ( as in early failure)? I was considering making an adaptor so that I could plug it into my single end 2a3 amplifier, to see if the tube was stable under normal operating conditions.Any ideas ,comments, suggestions? Thanks very much for your help. wpod
