Sorry, I was too vague.I know about the EH 6sn7, but NOS nuts seeem to think they are "ok" at best. Of course, I'd like to try out myself, but if I don't like them, then I'm instantly in the expensive NOS league, if I want to try out something that is better than a light bulb.
So, if I could have any tube type 6sn7, 300B, 12AX7, 6cg7, etc, but still have a nice amp, which type would you recommend, based on availability, pricing and quality?
Are all tube types equally hard to get and equally priced? Are the current production tubes used in guitar amplifiers any better?
