I'm new to tubes, but didn't Telefunken make 12AX7s with gold plated pins anyway? If not, then I stand corrected.Maybe I'm slow or I didn't read his auctions entirely, but his description of "enhanced gold pins" may mean nothing more than this pair is an upgraded 12AX7 over the standard regular pin Telefunken 12AX7s, nothing more. I assume that a knowledgable Telefunken buff would know for sure if this is a scam...how could this seller gold-plate these pins? Looks like standard Telefunken build quality to my untrained eyes (meaning excellent).
You can read anything and misinterpret the meaning, or maybe the seller shouldn't have used the word "enhanced" in his descriptions, seeing that some people feel he's gold-plating his tubes, while all along he's selling the genuine article...I dunno. I don't know this guy, nor have I ever delt with him or his auctions. But I like to give the benefit of a doubt. His eBay feedback isn't too bad; the only 3 negs he got seem to be from buyers who also misinterpreted his wording. Maybe his only fault is that he needs to word his auctions much better.
Just my opinion, nothing more. Maybe he is a fraud, who knows? It's hard to trust anyone these days...
