Also, depends on which 12at7 you use.here are my rating from best to very good:
Telefunken ECC801S Excellent
Sylvania Gold Brand 6201 Excellent
Haltron E81CC made in Gt Brt Excellent
Brimar 6060 Excellent
Telefunken ECC81 Very goodMullard M8162 /CV4024 good
Siemens E81CC ( non tri-mica) okay
Siemens CV455 okay, slight noisyI have not try RCA black plate, GE 5 star
gold pin Valvo 6201 and Gold pin Amperex 6201(holland)
