Actually, it`s a choke or inductor, it`s purpose is for DC filtering (rel. large AC impedance and rel. small DC resistance). It looks like small OPT, but with only two wires :-). You can try to find one in salvaged old TV`s or amps, but be carefull not to put an unit with too small DC current ratings. However, you can use the power resistor with about the same DC resistance like this choke (say 100 Ohms/>10 W), but your filtering will not be that good. Maybe you can use bigger capacitor after this resistor. Do you have schematic, for what DC current this choke is dimensioned?
