I have been sucessful with bi-wire my SS as well as tube by swapping the usual multi-stranded hard wiring with solid wires with very good synergy resulting in clear baseline and smooth revealing highs.
My recipie comprises 22awg solid
with a thinner solid 30awg (peel off from computer ATA100 hard disc ribbon cable) spiraled onto the 22awg. Most noticeable is to 12V low voltage filament connection.
By pass is easy but by chance end up with awkward stretch of headroom, on ocassion airy hiss, affecting overall balance if capacitance value is chosen wrong. By pass IMO is very much a trial and error game.
The narrow solid 30awg can also spiral and soldered to chassis ground making a darker silence background.
Fussy DIYers can go for silver solid core from any friendly DIY suppliers in your area.
Hope helps
