Tubes Asylum Questions about tubes and gear that glows. FAQ |
|
This may be a bit obscure, but I will ask anyway. I just purchased a very old Lorenz (German) cinema amplifier that uses push pull RL12P35 output pentodes. From what I gather, the RL12P35 was a German Wehrmacht transmitting pentode, but it was used by several companies such as Lorenz as an audio output tube in some larger cinema amps such as this.
Is anyone familiar at all with the sound of amps that use this tube? I have no idea if this particular amp will be any good in stock condition, but I have seen a few website (mainly German) of DIY amps using RL12P35's.
I just thought I would ask to see if anyone has some experience with this really oddball (in the US) tube. Thanks
