Try the GE Large Plate 1963. This is a very lowest noise tube I have found. Kevin Deal is the man for them.
I run them in an Aronov LS9000 preamp which in its standard form is as noisy as hell, so its not hard to tell the difference.
I seem to remember someone that made a posting saying that the gold pins tend to be noisy.
