Hi,A LC type filtering did also cross my mind and did some simulations on it. I like it, from what I see from the simulation results. A higher input voltage is required, but the advantage is that the current spikes through the transformer, tube rectifier and first choke/cap are less. Much smoother operation, which should result into a less noise compared to a CLC filter. LC filtering would be the next step when choosing a passive style power supply. I was just wondering whether it was worth it to persue a regulation.
