Tubes Asylum Questions about tubes and gear that glows. FAQ |
|
I have a 500 B which I have completely restored, including The Fisher Docs's mods. It has worked beautifully for a long time. Lately, though, I have been hearing an annoying hum (60 hz ?) almost exclusively in the right channel. I suspect one of the filter caps in the supply. I replaced one a long time ago when I first bought the unit - but the other 4 multi-sections are original. Is there a way I can trace this hum signal to find the culprit (assuming it is a cap)? These things are difficult to find , not to mention expensive. My tubes are all good. Thanks for any help, guys !!
