very nice tube overal. It also, in my experience, lasts a very, very, long time. I can still use my first group that are the original version.
I don't see how going down in the bias will help. I actaully do like the Ruby tubes. If you do any of your own soldering you might also look at some of the the internals of the amp. The grid stoppers can be improved and a nice ASC cap after the electrolytics adds great response.
