Re: tube amp recommendations....

I demoed a Llano A200 so I can compare a little bit (in my room, system, blah blah blah).
If you can find a c-j Mv75 I think you might like it. It shouldn't have to much trouble with the impedence, have plenty of power and used ones go for $700 to $900. Make sure you ask if it has a face plate and cage. It doesn't matter sonically and I don't care, but if it matters to you make sure you ask. Most of the used ones I've seen do not have either. Cages are no longer available from c-j.
I compared it with the Llano driving both ProAc Response 2s' and Totem Mani II's. The Llano was much better with the Mani's, but they not only have a low impedence, but also are extremely insensitive.
With the ProAcs, the Llano had more impact, but the c-j's had more "roundness" of notes. It just sounded more realistic.

The c-j's seem to come in waves for some reason. You won't see a used one for months, then you'll see 3 or 4. It's a pretty good amp and if you only pay $700- $900 and don't like it, you can probably resell it for most of your money.
