STOP PRESS!!! New Amplifiers from Kondo San (Audio Note Japan) at the UK HiFi Show....

Hi all,

During my visits to the HiFi Show in London I came across a new Line of Amplifers designed by Kondo San and manufactured in England by Marshall. I also had the chance to personally meet Kondo San and to have a short interview (via a very nich you gentleman from Japan who translated) with him. Kondo San is a very plesant and unassuming gentleman and I must say my already great respect for him has deepend.

The room these Amplifers where demonstrated receives my unequivocal "best sound of the show".

On show was a new Poweramplifier. The physical layout is similar to the Neiro, however the Amplifer is a 2A3 PUSH-PULL Amplifer. The Preamplifer is similar in looks and circuit design to the M7, however, the internal layout and the whole design as well parts quality has been SUBSTANTIALLY improved.

This system played through a pair of B&W Nautilus 802 (not a very happy match If I may say so) feed from the latest Version of the IO Cartridge tracking in a SME V Arm mounted on the new Garrard 501 Turntable.

Also on show was a DAC by Kondo San. This uses 16 parallel 16 Bit DAC's per channel, a resistor as I/V converted and four valves in the output stage in a 3rd order Filter without chokes. The DAC uses NO DIGITAL FILTER. This was fed from an enseble Dicrono Transport.

While not able to rise to the extreme high of performance scaled by the Vinyl System, the sound from this DAC and transpoirt in this system is among the best I have ever heard from CD.

I can only say that here is a new line of Amplifiers from Kondo San which PUSHES THE LIMITS (IMHO) beyound anything so far achieved by AN Japan. All I know, I want this stuff. BAD. REAL BAD!!!!
