***No soldering involved. Just heatNo, don't do it that way. Just heating the joint without any flux will only oxidize and burn the solder and create a wreck of a joint. If you decide to go ahead and reflow it, make sure you use at least some flux. If you don't like the idea of using some "modern" fluxed solder, then use a bit of rosin, or rosin desolved in alcohol, it works absolutely great. You need a clean shiny joint.
