I just ordered some additional tubes to play with when the s2A3 arrives in October. Did I screw up or am I ok? (I can cancel the order if I need to). I ordered:
2 - RCA 2A3 bi-plates
1 - Mullard 5AR4 (brown base, military grade); and
2 - 1944 vintage Sylvania 6SL7s (preamp grade)Total cost for all of these was $250.00. Should I be committed yet? I figure, unless I paid way too much or these are crappy tubes (which I doubt since I think my tube guy is a pretty good guy), the worst thing that will happen is that I have an extra set of tubes that won't sound any worse than the stock Chinese 2A3s or Sovtek rectifier and driver tubes. Kool-aid anyone?
