It only means that you preferred it in that system context.
As you point out, all opinions are based on limited listening in limited systems. Moreover, our opinions are also based on room interactions, and our own listening biases (what we like/don't like in reproduced sound). In addition, the sound of any tube component is impacted heavily by the sound of the particular tubes used, and how well the circuit is designed to exploit those particular tubes.
Given the above, any specific opinion is relatively meaningless, unless we're giving advice to a clone of ourselves with exactly the same components in the same room. That's why people should listen for themselves.
