Power supply for 6SN7 vs. 6922 question

I recently had someone who knows a lot more than I do, tell me that the 6SN7 required "less power supply" than the 6922 when used in preamps with the same circuit topology. Ergo the 6SN7 was a better choice for a lower cost preamp than the 6922 because you could save $ on the power supply.
Any opinions?
NOTE: they were not saying the 6922 was a better choice for more expensive amps - this is not a slam on the 6SN7.
