Ok, I'm about to buy my first 2A3 amp, but maybe not..

maybe I should get a 45 amp. This is a very difficult decision to make. If less is more and simple is better wouldn't it make sense to use just one output tube and no driver tube? is this possible? My Duos are 102db sensitve so according to the FAQ section I only need 1 or 2 watts. Maybe I only "really" need 1/2 watt. Where does it end - does a 1/10 watt tube with appropriate speakers sound better than a 1/9 watt tube?
