Bill, I think a lot of us did that. Remember the period in time we're talking about was the first "perfect sound forever" era. The tranistor was supposed to free us from the burden of tubes and sound great to boot. hey, it's new, it's modern - gotta be good. I pooh-pooh'd horns for over two decades based on my Cornwall/sand amp experience.
