No, its isn't identical to other 2A3s. It can be pushed harder, and suposedly put out more power(already given my thoughts on that subject). It IS sold as a direct replacement tho. My amps *suposedly* use them as are required to get them at their best. That said, others have commented on Kron's "house sound". That said, I can see somefolks prefering the KR tubes, espicially those who like their music *ahem* "accurate".
