Thanks, Thorsten. I didn't have the guts to put my thoery to a public test until you confirmed it, but you did, so here it is.My nominal load for a triode stage is Eb/Ib - 2.38*rp. Eb is plate/cathode voltage difference, Ib is plate current, and rp is the tube's plate resistance. 2.38 is actually 3/(cube root of 2). For your amp, 350v/63mA-2.38*700 is 3890 ohms - pretty darn close to 3600! I love it when a plan comes together!
3 ohms on the 8 ohm tap?! Dang. And I suppose the PM-2's are 12 ohms on the same 8-ohm tap, completely ruining my theory. So, my thory holds with an error margin of +/-50% or so... like I always say, science will get you close but not close enough.
