Only 3,000???? Thanks for your response (it's my birthday - great present).

I sent a Counterpoint SA-20 to Michael Elliott for his new updates to this unit and he uses the 6SL7s in place of 6DJ8s in the new circuit. I'm sure I'll have some fun experimenting with your suggestions when I get the amp back.
