After running the JJ/Tesla EL84 for 3 weeks (> 50 hours), I think
they should settle down now. When I first swapped them in, I thought
the mid-range was thin compared to the Sovtek fuller (in vocal)
and more mellow (in violin) mid-range. It is better now, but is
still a pin away from the Sovtek sound. On the plus side, the
JJ/Tesla picks up more low-level recording noise, the bass is a bit
lower and tighter.
