The reason for needing high pass filtering with LP's have little to do with rumble and much to do with warp.Saddle warp is what you see while the LP is turning at 0.5hz.Pinch warp is from the pressing process and while not visible has a strong 8hz component.These can combine with tone arm resonances in the 5~15hz range to sound very unpleasant and possibly damage speakers(especially vented types).
