Tubes Asylum Questions about tubes and gear that glows. FAQ |
|
I was in the market for a cd player when I listened to this amp driving a
pair of Maggie 1.6s --- very nice sounding combo. I left without a cd
player but I am seriously thinking of purchasing the C-J. I loved everything
about it --- looks, build quality, sound, etc.. I was surprised it did such a
good job pushing the Maggies since I thought those speakers needed a
lot of power. If I bought the C-J, would it have problems driving some of
these high quality speakers I am considering upgrading to one day
(Vandersteen 3a; PSB Goldi, Logan SL3, Maggie 3.6 just to name a
few). Should I forget tubes and go solid state? I am just starting the
upgrade game and am trying to make reasonable decisions --- those
tubes sound great though. For the same amount of money I would be
willing to spend on C-J( or maybe a little more money), I could get much
more powerful solid state amps that would probably have no problem
driving those speakers I would like sometime soon. Thanks.
