Recognizing that both of the tubes have an impact on the sound, why are you sticking with the CBS5692 on top? Of all the tubes you have listed I would consider it the weakest sonically, although it is a very good 6SN7. It doesn't have any magical properties that make it the best choice for that position. Of the four you have listed try the Tung-Sol and the Raytheon VT-231 or maybe the Tung-sol and the Brimar (round plate?) if you have the FE Black Glass Brimars. Better yet try two pairs of the Tung-sols.
