Best copy of Telefunken12AX7 smooth plate???

Has there been a recent "copy" of the Telefunken 12AX7 smooth plate that is somewhat close to the original??? I seem to recall something coming out of Europe in the early eighties that was said to be close. I don't really have the budget for 4 NOS Tele's, any recommendations????
