I wanted to take the advice of a post from someone on this forum regarding heat dissipation and cooling. I am running a vintage Stromberg-Carlson ASR 433 amp and am going to buy a variac to take the voltage going to the amp down. Is 110 Volts the proper level for an amp of this vintage? Also, is it ok to run the power strip / surge protector through the variac? Lastly, my turntable and CD player are 80 and 90s. I assume that running them at 110 volts would not work well, if at all, as they should be designed to run at today’s higher voltage. I am new to this whole electricity thing so I appreciate your help and advice.
