SET's really get the harmonics right but I find on balance their virtues are centrist to the midrange, high frequency and bass performance is not as extended as an OTL. OTL's seem more accurate, faster, better bass but this does not mean they don't resolve the harmonics of music as well as a great SET, they just resolve more of the musical information, they get closer to real than any amplyfing device I have heard. SET's seem more euphonic with exaggerated soundstaging which may be more preferable but not necessarily more accurate. I am speaking in generalities and not all SET's or OTL's sound the same. My preference is definitely in the OTL camp providing you have speakers with a high enough impedance without dips that would permit their use.
