Re: Preamp designs all fine? Look at the LS-22.

I could be wrong since I am not familiar with the particulars of the LS-22 circuit, but as I understand the ARC cross couple circuitry, it works in just the opposite fashion. It makes the circuit less sensitive with minor circuit imbalances and produces better sonic results with less than perfect balance of the tubes. I believe that ARC refers to this as 'bucking' out of these minor variations.

I doubt that gross circuit imbalances will be overcome with this type approach, but reasonably well matched tubes should work fine with this design.

My experience with ARC designs is they try to keep the reality of tube availability and performance in mind when designing circuits.
