I once experienced during a thunderstorm a rectifier tube (GE 5AR4) on a Dyna ST-70 flashing like a flashbulb. It scared me, so I powered down the system. (The rectifier and amp were still functional, but there were dark spots inside the rectifier tube.) I was wondering if rectifiers can be damaged or compromised when this occurs, and if it would pose a danger to rest of the unit.
