...about 20% more heater current than the 6922 (appr. 365 vs. 300 mA).So you could possibly overload whatever circuitry delivers that current (SS regulators, for example) when you use 6DJ8s in place of the 6922s. Of course this would imply that whoever designed the particular circuit did not exactly 'overbuild' the amp...like running SS regulators at the limit of their rating etc.
Other than that I see no reason not to use 6DJ8s in place of 6922s, if noise and microphony performance is suited for your application. From what little I have learned on this forum, a specific 6DJ8 can 'outperform' - in audio terms - some specific 6922 (e.g. NOS Telefunken 6DJ8 vs. new Sovtek 6922).
You can get a neat little program from the www.duncanamps.com site that will allow you to compare electrical paramaters of any tubes you can think of. TDSL Personal Edition is the name of the program.
