Thanks for the info - good stuff to know. Did you calibrate the TV/7? Was it still in calibration afterwards?Another question to ask one's self: how long do 83's last in a tester - seems to me they would last quite a while... most people use testers maybe a few minutes or an hour or two at a time.. likely not every day, 4+ hours a day, etc. 83's are still cheap enough and likely will be for some time that it is sort of a moot point re: cost. Given that pretty much all Military testers used the Hickok circuit, (meaning an 83 in the circuit), the military must have had vast stocks of 83s... which either likely have been or will be released at some future point. And that doesnt' even count the civilian applications for them... the tube was made from the 30s(?) into the 70s or later... still many to be had... probably many being hoarded as well. (I know I have a dozen or so)
