Hi;

I have been using Svetlana 300B's in my SE-1 and have experienced similar popping sounds from one of my 300B's when starting up. This occurs even when the amp has been on standby for hours. Then it goes away after 5 minutes or so, of operation. These tubes are about 10 months old. They are a replacement pair sent to me when one of my Svetlana 300B's died from the original pair I purchased. I love the sound of the tubes, but I am very concerned about the reliability. The poping/crackling sound of the tube bothers me very much and I am wondering when this tube will "give up the ghost" too. I am currently considering a pair of Tesla, or KR 300B's, or possibly WE if my budget will allow.
