I will answer my own question and say that I have not heard a better system than the Audio Note combo of Oto integrated amp and AN-L bookshelf speakers.
Of course, I have not listned to true high-end equipment in the 5 figure range, but I have heard a lot of the tube gear under $2K.
I can not offer a proper review as this was only a 2 hour audition at a dealer.
However, I may be moved to write a proper review when I've listned to the stuff in my home.
I can heartily recommend Nick at True Sound to anyone looking for pure musical enjoyment.
