That's where I Disagree with you. The old KR tube was too microphonic and glary in the upper mid range while the new KR is dead on quiet and has a 2A3 feel on it. But to each his own. The old tube just annoyed the hell out of me with the ringing it produced everytime the music moves from the loud passages to the quiet ones. Everytime there was a dynamic impact, followed by a quiet passage the ringing would go on,and on. Regarding the reliability problem, I too is having problems with the LX-20. I'm now hearing buzzing noise coming out of my Tads from one of the amps. I better check with Cary on this one. Good Luck
