Try Shirley Horn!! She has done many of the songs Diane does, but better! Diane swings okay. She is young and I would suggest that her ability to wrap emotions around a song has not matured to the point of some of the more seasoned performers, such as Shirley Horn. Holly Coles' earlier CD's are nice as well. How about Carol Kidd!? Beautiful vocal reference pieces!!
