Bryan,

You asked:

>>>They are detailed but not sterile and without glare.<<<

"When you say without glare do you mean that they can't be even if material calls for it? As I have
noted that 2A3's increase my listening enjoyment but like most good amplifers let you know whats
wrong with the recording. I have a more than a few recordings that go beyond bright and have a glare
and sheen about them in the treble that still makes me cringe."

I have lots of old big band recordings that are bright and have glare. Especially the brass.. no miracles here... What I was refering to is the glare I was getting with my SS amp around voices.. mostly female. Now there is no glare and no tiss.
My VR-6's have those focal titanium tweeters... They are VERY revealing and can inflect pain from a bad source. The 2A3 hides nothing.. but what is recorded well comes thru as intended. One must take the bad with the good.

"With that I'm glad your making music! Many systems seem to play CD's. Few make and can convey
music to my ears. Now I just have to work on that macrodynamic thing..........man these guys who bi
and tri amp must have the best of both worlds!"

I am still considering bi-amping. I have a plan but it must wait for a few months.. I am getting good dynamics now.. but of course it can be improved upon. I am amazed at how well these Cary 2A3 amps can drive my speakers.
When I crank it up, these things can rock! I have a Paula Cole recording that has this subsonic bass.. Her high pitched voice in contrast with that low pounding bass is very dynamic.. makes the whole room shake.. all from 5 watts..

"Enjoy.....I bet it's hard to leave the room with the music playing! Hey, and how seductive are female
vocalists? "

Detailed and seductive.. I didn't think they could go together.. but they do. I am hearing texture and emotion that I never knew whas there before.
These SET amps bring you so close to the surface... I am still shocked by how good it all is. It also does wonders for old recordings from the 40's and 50's. Some of the ones from the 50's are very dimensional and have very good tonal accuracy. Others are not so great, but I still enjoy the sense of emotion I am getting. Good stuff!
