I haven't built a guitar cabinet yet, but I plan to purchase a JBL M151-8, which is an older model on sale at JBLPro.com, in the E-tent sale for $70. These speakers are designed to have the vintage sound combined with modern performance. Frequency response is 40-4000 Hz. If more high frequencies are required, you could combine it with the JBL 2402H-05, which is also on the sale page for $110, less than half of retail. Specs can be downloaded.Scott
