Hi all!
I'm a newbie about to embark on the long journey to hi-fi nirvana. I've been following this forum for a couple of days now. Lotsa helpful information here. I'm looking to set up a modest "beginner system" to be placed in my bedroom [no place else :( ]and am currently agonising about speaker selection. I figure that at my current budget level (trying to keep it within US$1K), i'm better off getting a good pair of speakers and work around those.
I'm currently considering either a new Acoustic Energy Evo 1 or a 2nd hand Acoustic Energy Aegeis 2 (flr-standers). What do you guys think? Do you have any other suggs?
I listen to lotsa jazz & vocals, and a bit of slow rock stuff. & I hate my music to sound too bright/hard.
Suggestions for matching components would also be most helpful :)
For the CDP, i'm kinda set on the updated NAD C521i. I heard it & its got lotsa detail for its price.
